The strength of this project lies in the diversity of its plan amongst a mixed building in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The most remarkable aspect of the work is the addition of four houses to the top of the building with private terraced gardens.
The main constraint was working in this already occupied space, which houses a primary and secondary school on the floors below.
With this extension, Vincent Eschalier presents an innovative approach to living in urban space. Perfectly integrated in the landscape, these houses harmoniously crown the existing building. They are visible from the street and exemplify what the city seems to desire most: space, limitless sky and private, generous green spaces.
