A project by the restaurateur Charles Compagnon, 52 moved into a fast-paced working-class neighbourhood on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis.

Studio Vincent Eschalier, with designer Gesa Hansen, created a raw and authentic room enhanced by a selection of high-quality materials. Inside, the spaces are stripped down and the walls are unmasked to show facing brick and rough concrete. The ceiling is exposed to reveal the ventilation ducts coming from the kitchens, giving the space an industrial loft-like feel.

In the centre stands an impressive square bar, covered with strips of oak. The Carrara marble topping adds a touch of elegance, whilst remaining within the register of authentic and timeless materials. The furniture, square tables and leather benches were all custom-made.

52 has become one of the neighbourhood’s leading addresses for a dynamic and demanding clientèle.
